The pump barges are made out of a corrosion resistant Isophthalic polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass mat and Woven Roving. The interior of the units are filled with closed cell polyurethane foam, so that even if they become damaged, the damage will not affect the flotation of the units. The concrete on the ballast wells is encapsulated in fiberglass to ensure that the center of gravity is below the water line to avoid the potential of the barge capsizing. The pump barge would be designed for stability afloat in a 100 mile per hour wind, with flotation capacity equal to two times the total weight of the pump, motor and barge combined.


All the pump barges come with handrails and kick plates that meet MSHA requirements. The top surface is skid resistant to prevent accidents. We even made a new design for the handrail system to make it safer and stronger. All units include an exterior ultraviolet resistant coating. The gelcoat is a white-pigmented sealer that protects the barge form corrosion and ultra violet rays.
